I started riding in 2010, and bought a 2003 Bandit 1200s as my everyday ride in 2011. I've put 15k on the Bandit, and I'm thinking about what my next bike will be. The obvious choice is a Ninja 1000, but I went to the Slimey Crud run a few weeks ago and got to ride a Ducati MH900e, and it made me fall in love with a lighter bike. But I've got mixed feelings about moving to a smaller displacement bike because I love the ease of maintenance, torque, and low end grunt of the Bandit, plus the riding position is so comfortable. I'm 5'11" 155 lbs. Is the Zx6r going to kill my wrists if I want to go touring and really pile up the miles? What about valve adjustments and other routine maintenance? Is the Zx6r going to cost me more to maintain? I do most all of the mainteance on my Bandit. Thanks in advance for your comments. Said another way, should I stick to a sport touring bike or just go for it with a sport bike?

The ZX-6R is a great bike, but it's going to make you work a lot harder for your speed. If you've never ridden a supersport 600, you'll be struck by how much you need to rev it to get good steam from the engine room compared to the Bandito or the MH900e. If you're young, then the racy ergos won't be that hard on your wrists, but it's definitely harder on older riders. The ZX-6R won't necessarily cost more to maintain, but it'll definitely take longer than your Bandit; you'll need to remove a lot more components to do valve adjustments.
