636 in Racing?

At a dealership I noticed that Kawasaki has reintroduced the 636R which was dropped from the lineup a few years ago. In looking at their website I noticed that the 636 is the only 600 on their lineup for next year. If that is the case would that bike be unqualified to race in AMA and WSS because of the added 36cc? Why would they do that especially after just winning the WSS crown? At first I thought they'd be including both a 600 and 636 in their lineup like they did before. Any news on this?

While the new ZX-6R will not be eligible for World Supersport racing, there is no displacement regulation in the AMA Pro Daytona SportBike or Supersport classes; only that the bike must be homologated with AMA Pro Racing, and then it's up to them regarding any handicaps they might impose (weight probably being the first one).
It's likely that Kawasaki will still be offering the 599cc ZX-6R in Europe in order to continue WSS and other national series racing.
