Greetings Sport Rider forum: I guess this question is directed to Sport Rider staff: if I recall correctly you were evaluating a Shorai battery for the 2009 R1. Did you finish the evaluation? I don't remember seeing any follow up info on that battery in subsequent issues. I subscribe digitally and the paper magazine too and enjoy your publication immensely. Thanks!

We've basically found very little downsides to the Shorai batteries. Especially helpful is the fact that they provide foam shims to keep the smaller lithium battery casing from moving around in the battery box. The batteries also last a long time without a recharge, as long as you pull the leads when sitting for long periods.
