I am taking a Nissin 3-piston front braking system,with 1 piston linked to the rear caliper,and converting it to a seperate front and rear system.The front is easy,just run two lines from the existing front master cylinder to the front caliper.The rear may be a bit more experimental,when I looked in the Honda manual there is a delay valve in the rear line.There is no info on how the valve works,I would guess a piston and spring could give a "delay"in pressure,allowing the front brake to apply a bit before the rear when the rear brake is applied.It would be cleaner,easier,cheaper to completely bypass this valve with a stainless steel flex line from the rear master to the rear caliper.This is on a 2003 Honda with no ABS or electronics to deal with.My goal is to improve front braking performance of this commuter bike,to make it more similar to my other unlinked bikes.Has anyone dealt with one of these valves before? Thanks

We would just bypass the valve with a new brake line. No reason to keep the delay valve in there if you're not running LBS.

Brake system finished. Front brake feel is good, I think switching to stainless lines offset the increase from 2 pistons to 3. Rear brake is improved over the linked system (I removed delay valve),with less travel at the lever.
