As a long time fan of the series and other series such as World Superbike/supersport, AMA Superbike/Supersport. The MotoGP class since the start and continuation of the 800cc have become progressively boring and too F1 like. In just about every race the most interesting part is the start then after the first few laps it's essentially over as they form a single file line. And if you are lucky you'll see a scrap for a lower podium spot or a fight between 9 or 10th spot before they show the leader gaining time over the guy a distance behind him. Also, if you happen to start in second row or worse it's unlikely you'll be even close to the lead rider. It's getting very difficult not to fast forward through it. Thank goodness for DVR's.

And they tell us that spec tires make it more competitive . . . . . ?

#46 fell in turn 2 again.

The HD race was worth watching, maybe spec bikes . . . . .

Spec tires helps keep everyone on even ground but I'm sure some bikes can still exploit the spec tires better than other bikes but at least it's a start. The areas that need to be explored are banning traction control, wheelie and launch control rider aids in top classes. The alternative is creating a common set of aids that are the same for all bikes. Tough yes but I'm sure something can be developed that would level the playing field. The other area to be explored is rider weight, if you are significantly lighter then you add weight if you are significantly heavier than the avg racer in the series then you reduce bike weight to the average. These modifications alone will make the series more interesting and the racing closer. These changes will also help prevent the need to going to the Moto2 level of all using stock engines and stock ecu's with other limitations.
