Nice job by Mr. Abrams.
Bicycling really is helpful in maintaining fitness for sportriding.

We did a story back in the April 2007 issue called "motorCYCLE Training" that focused on how all the top roadracing stars had taken up cycling. It featured Spies, Jamie Hacking, Tommy Hayden, the Bostrom brothers, Neil Hodgson, et al, talking about how much enjoyment they receive from cycling...and that's outside of the fitness benefits, which they also cover in detail. Unfortunately, for some reason it's not up on our site (or at least I can't find it), but I'll get it posted soon enough.

Some of the Griffith Park guys "cross trained" too; not that we knew it at the time. I was not competitive going uphill but downhill - watchout; tight wheels and tuned brakes made a difference.

Yep, I remember that.
The story we did back in April 2007 that I was referring to is up now.

Thanks for that link, a good read it is.
I need to cycle more, or sport ride less; every time I go out I come back with sore quads. Staying on the balls of your feet is quad work.
On second thought, I should do more of both - cycling and sportbiking.
