I was just curious about where everyone lives and what the riding is like there? I live in Utah so we have lots of canyon stuff. I'm not at that level yet but I hear it is amazing.
Just trying to get to know a little about everyone

Western N.C. small town near Ashville. I'm in the mountains so its harder to find decent straights than curves, plenty of good rides though i'm also right beside the Blue Ridge Parkway so i ride it ocassionally.

I'm the complete opposite of 0069 as I live in central Iowa (Des Moines). Straights are too easy to come by here. There are some roads with some decent twisties, but nothing like where I'm originally from in the Eastern PA.
I have to take advantage of every curve I find in Iowa!

Hey I'm in the Shenandoah Valley in VA -- lots of twisties on back roads (and tractors, deer, gravel & a few horses & buggies) but we've got quite a few main roads going over the mountians that are pretty cool.

0069 whether you know it or not, you are in my heaven. I love coming up your way. I am down in middle ga, Macon to be exact. Was just up your way a month ago enjoying north ga and west side of N.C. Absolutely love it up there. This area doesn't have diddly for good twisties. Highway 42 from Byron to Roberta is the most notorious, but it only take 15 minutes to do it. Upper River road has some tight stuff, but the state is about to straighten the curves!! Ba$$tards, this is my highlight of the day coming home from work!

Lyn - Thanks for posting the question. I often wondered the same thing. I live in the Central Valley of California / Fresno. 1 hr to the gates to Yosemite Park. 1 hr to Seqouia and Kings Canyon National Park and two hrs from Laguna Seca Raceway. I ride the Sierra Nevada Mountains with dozens of places to go. The Valley floor which is about 80 miles wide and 400 miles long has as much flat straight roads as one could want. Hot as hell in the summer, but the evenings are awesome. Not much rain as it is a desert, but some serious fog in Dec / Jan.

I'm in southern Ontario,Canada. Lots of decent day trips around here with good straights and some cool curvy stuff down along the northern shore of Lake Erie. When me and the buds want a challenge we head for Pa, or West Virginia (or Virginia), you just can't beat the roads down there, you just have to dodge the rattle snakes first thing in the morning and don't hit em lengthwise cuz they're slippery!

I'm way over here in Frankfurt,Germany. I must say I'm lucky as hell every thing I like within a 3 hour drive, mountains, autobahns, and lots of race tracks. Plus the riding couture is superb, Germans are much more tolerant of motorcycles. Everyone should do Europe on a bike at least once!

Just joined up from HOLLYWOOD, SoCal. I head up north to the Palisades and the Mountains a lot but also some great parks and such in the Inland Empire around Riverside.

Located in the worse area for a Sport Bike rider. Located at 6600 feet above sea level in the mountains of NE Nevada where as I write my ZX10R's two wheels are off the ground and the battery is out until Spring and last year Spring came in late May so our riding time is far to short and the elevation indeed takes away at least 25% of my power band. I place it on a trailer and take it where I am closer to sea level and have fun! BTW, last night it was -9 degrees F and we already have six inches of the white stuff on the ground-Yuck!

I live in Nova Scotia.
It is an incredible place to ride a motorcycle. Lots of "twisties" with changes in elevation. Lots of straights.
The only negative thing is the winter. You can ride up to Mid to late November. Some people are hardy enough to ride well into December. I usually put my bike away at the end of November.
Riding usually starts again in Mid April weather permitting.
Ride Proud, Ride Safe, Have Fun.
