OK, I won't make any assumptions. Let me just say this about that.
Every month with a new copy of SR I get to know the editors and authors a little better. It's not a true personal relationship of course, but there is an element of familiarity and trust and is one of the reasons for subscribing.
To much change and the magazine loses it's personal touch and simply becomes just a series of articles mechanically written by near anonymous writers.
From your writing, both you and AT seem like pretty good guys. Truthfully I like SR better than the other mags and to some extent it is because of the familiarity and the fact you have been able to do that without trying to create a literary masterpiece every month.
You guys are a class act, someone over your pay grade needs to know that.
BTW only one of the lifts in the new garage is yours?.

Thanx for the props, we try our best.
Believe me, I'd rather have our staff stay consistent over the years as well. It's just as upsetting to the continuity of the magazine here as it is to readers like you. With the work load we're under, we don't have the time to search for a replacement that has the right qualities we're looking for. Unfortunately, Troy's time here was done, and he's looking at new opportunities.
Yep, only one of the lifts is "ours", although it often turns out that the second we don't have bike on there being worked on, it gets occupied by one of our sister magazines. No worries, years of working on bikes without a lift makes that a trivial issue, considering our overall workspace is a hundred times better.

Can't say much about the sister magazines except to say that one is not exactly my cup of tea and although I subscribe to the other, I have become not very excited about it. Keep up the good fight though.
Is that lift any good? I am thinking of buying one to save my back. I have an easy rizer but it's really a pain in the backside to use so it might end up on craigslist soon. Ever think of doing a comparison article on that kind of stuff?

It's an excellent lift, although it's pneumatic, so you'll need a suitable size air compressor. And since it's a Snap-on product, it's surely expensive.
