First, I have to admit that SportRider is one of my favorite motorcycle magazines and I've subscribed to many motorcycle magazines over the years but SportRider is obviously run by sport motorcycle enthusiasts just like the people that subscribe to it. Plus I enjoy the many topics that are in most issues. I know we all like the shoot-outs, rider tips, mail, and messages from the editors. While I know budgets are tight all around but it would be nice to see more (objective) comparisons of products especially things we use all the time like riding gear, tires, suspension components, and accessories. Motorcycle Consumer News, another one of my favorite magazines, does a good job on occasion doing product comparisons albeit usually set more toward a sport/touring crowd but useful nonetheless. Another area would be to show what types of bike accessories or add-ons are useful and why. I've enjoyed the occasionaly main article on improving riding skills not to be confused with the one riding skill tip shown in each issue. All in all SportRider staff does a great job, keep up the good work.
What would other forum members would like to see as main articles in SportRider?

There are plans afoot to do some product comparisons just as you mention. We've done many in the past, it's just been difficult with all the new bikes coming out, as well as Trevitt's accident putting us on back on our heels for a while. Stay tuned.
Oh, and by all means, continue the thread if desired, please.

I love the technical aspects, the science, the engineering, the technical development, the hows and whys for new model's changes. I tend to read the technical sidebar tech articles before I read the main article. I'd like even more of those detailed technical photos too.
I've purchased books by Kevin Cameron, Gordon Jennings, and, yes, Andrew Trevitt too; can't get enough motorcycle tech!

I agree with Backslider as I enjoy the technical and science aspects of motorcycling and also try to read as many technical articles/books as well if they're not too dry. I feel as I'm sure many other motorcycle geeks do that more information can only help us understand this mototcycling passion we have even more. I think that SportRider has done a better job than a lot of other magazines in this regard. It's nice having "The Geek" back and thanks Kento for keeping us in mind. Keep up the good work.

I have two things id like to say and that is that this months currant issue that had the article on the use of NOS and how it worked on motorcycles was great. I loved that you included the chemistry and explained what actually happens with the NOS and not just that it makes the bike go faster. I love seeing those kinda articles and would love to see more. The other thing i love seeing are two fold, i love the product reviews and the rider tips. some of the articles have improved my riding with great bounds. One additional thing i appreciate is that you are strictly a motorcycle enthusiast magazine, i read your magazine because it is informative and exceptionally clean and does not have the sleazy pictures of girls with bikes. I personally hate that, i want to read about bikes not look at some stinken girl. Anyways thanks again for what you guys do.

Mongolwarrior I have nothing against pictures of girls on bikes but point taken. As I've mentioned before SportRider is one of the essential motorcycle magazines for me. But as enthusiasts we should help our friends at Sportrider with article ideas. It would be nice to see a motorcycle setup piece or series with how one change may impact another suspension setup. I'm sure SportRider has done similar articles before but with recent suspension changes like big fork or electronics a refresher would be nice.
