have had a gsxr 750 and an r6 and am wanting to bump up to a 1000.  Have found a ninja 10r for really cheap but hate the dealer. had my gixxer worked on there and stuff literally fell off it on the way home from it getting serviced.  found an 09 r1 and cbr1000rr repsol for the same price.  Love the looks of the repsol and i know the fireblade is a damn good bike.  However, i had a lot of fun on my r6 and a sucker for the underseat exhaust and the crossplane of the yammi.  any input to help me make my decision? anyone ride these bikes?

As you seem like you have sufficient experience riding to make the upgrade and as you know by the shoot-outs that most of the litre bikes are real close then any choice won't be a bad one. That said you need to consider what type of riding you are planning to do, i.e. street only, track only, mainly street with some track days, etc... Once you've narrowed the type of riding then compare the various articles to see what the pros think. Then consider new or used, cost, and style that you like. Of the bikes you noted I'm familiar with the CBR1KRR as I have an '08 and while overall it's a good bike (good brakes, great handling) the one problem I've had with it is a vague initial throttle which the dealer hasn't fully resolved on my bike (but not all owners have had this problem). The 2010 model has a heavier flywheel (I believe) which may help resolve any throttle issues with the bike. The ZX10R (great motor) and R1 (stability and smooth out of turns) have received good reviews even though they may not have won the shoot-out this year. Good luck.
