TIME FOR A NEW SET OF TIRES for my 08 Duc 1098. Not for the track. Spirited/aggressive street riding on the twisties of No. Calif. Sierra & Coast Range foothills and mountains. I'm looking for a multiple compound tire so I don't burn 'em up just getting to the good roads, i.e.: harder compound in the center for good mileage but softer/grippier compound on the sides for performance and confidence in the canyons.
The OEM Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa Pro's were great but they wore out way too fast. Most recent set was Michelin Pilot Power 2CT. They were ok, but I'm looking for something different.
Does anyone have any comments on the Bridgestone Battlax BT-016? How 'bout the Pirelli Diablo Corsa III [3 zone compound]?
Any others?
Thanks,
motogas

Both the Bridgestone Battlax BT-016 and Pirelli Diablo Corsa III are excellent tires. If you have a problem with wear in the middle traveling to and from your twisty road areas, maybe the Pirelli would be the better choice. But the BT-016 is a superb tire, excellent handling and steering characteristics; it's basically improved the handling of many bikes we've fitted them on. Another one to try would be the new Metzeler Sportec M5.
