I was considering getting the Twist of the Wrist books by Keith Code, and i figured i would see if anyone had any opinions about them.I thought about getting all of the books, books on cd and dvd as you can get them as a package deal straight from the site for just 90 bucks.

Hey if you get the books and like them let us know. I'm thinking about signing up for one of the Superbike Schools, & thought it might not be a bad idea to read up on the techniques they use. Besides- for around $700.00 for a day I want to be able to come away from the track w/ as much APPLIED learning as possible

I have been on a motorcycle for 42 years, and I LOVE those books.

I've been riding for over 12 years and I think all three TW books are great. But I especially like #2. Recently I've seen they've created a DVD of Book #2 which I may consider buying. Good stuff, plus I'm hoping to take one of his classes next year.

Sorry for a late post Marc, but I'm new to the forum. The new DVD is great. The books are a little dated, but still effective.
The school is wicked. It will help a lot. It will provide more clarity and give you more appreciation for the books. If you can, get out there on your bike. You can get two days for around $800, and it's well worth it for the price. The two day school is EXPENSIVE ($2,250). The video helps, but it just re-enforces what you're being coached on, and mine doesn't even work. The food isn't worth it. I brought my own the second day. You won't get laptimes if you get the days for $390 each, but I got them at the end of the two day, so they were useless for leaning.
The coaching is priceless, and will give you plenty to work on to improve your riding. If I can get my bike out to Cali this fall, I'm doing levels 3 and 4 for sure.
Check out this forum. I practically live there.

Get the books; get the video; even pros learn from comprehensive treatment.
When you make it your business, for more than 30 years, to think about, to write about, and to physically teach a dynamic subject that no one else has attempted to master, well then you become a world class expert - that's Keith Code.

Thanks I've checked out there websites before and I'm considering some dates when they come out East. I met Keith at the Cycle World Bike show and we chatted for awhile, good guy and very informative.
Glad you had a good experience. Good luck with the next levels if you get a chance to take them.

Recently viewed the DVD on ToWII and overall it did a good job explaining the main concepts of the book. A little corny in the approach but understandable as a method to draw in the viewer to the topics. No academy awards but a decent effort. However, a further step by step breakdown of how to develop the skills through various practices would have been nice for novice riders. The graphics and illustrations were helpful to clarify points I recall from the book.

I think the books are good, but in my opinion, Sport Riding Techniques by Nick Ienatsch is even better. Its much easier to understand. The Twist of the Wrist II dvd is excellent. A must buy for any rider looking to take their skills to the next level.

Ditto that. Ienatsch writes well. Good book. Code deserves credit for breaking ground and doing it without a publishing background. Writing can be hard.

Disagree, I have Ienatsch's book and while it's a very good overall riding technique book but I think that ToWII is better in terms of breaking down cornering technique and theory.
