Hello, I am about to purchase a new bike, the two that I am trying to decide between are the Suzuki GSXR-600 2008, or the 2009 Honda cbr 600. My question is between the two which has a better success rate in speed, braking, mods and ESPECIALLY mechanical, which has more malfunctions and which is easier to work on? I appreciate any help, Thanks,

Both bikes are fairly equal in all the categories you've listed, although the GSX-R probably has more aftermarket parts because of the popularity of the GSX-R series. There's no real problems with either bike mechanically, and they're both about the same difficulty to work on.
CBR has a slightly better motor, but the GSX-R has the more confidence-inspiring chassis. But either of those minor advantages would only be exploited by a highly-skilled rider; otherwise, it's pretty much a dead heat. The CBR is lighter by a few pounds, though.

Thank you i was wondering also is the mode change on the GSXR more of a gimmick or does it actually work

Truthfully, it's more a marketing gimmick than anything, and especially on the 600. The C mode basically neuters the entire powerband, making the bike slower than an SV650. The B mode slows the throttle response in the first half of throttle movement way too much, making it more an annoyance than any real safety or performance feature.

As most of my recent bikes have been Honda's I'd suggest the 600RR but I'm sure you couldn't go wrong with the Zook as Kento noted.Good luck with either choice. As you only have one year's worth of experience I commend you for not going for a 1000cc supersport. As an owner of both I have to admit that I probably have more fun on my 600 especially on the track. Have fun be safe.

Thanks for the insight, no i have no desire for a 1000cc bike the highest i would go would be the gixxer 750, one more question, between the two bikes it will have to last probably up to 100,000 miles as i do not plan on getting a new bike again for awhile, so between the two which has a better chance of making it to that mark as long as i do my frequent oil changes, sprockets, chains ect. thanks

Both bikes are quality machines, and shouldn't have a problem achieving that mileage with proper maintenance and care.
