Kent, a few weeks ago I posted a question about sprockets and how to get my old chain off. Now I have a question about what chain breaker tool and do I need the chain press kit. I just purchased a chain and sprocket package for my 07'GSXR600. The kit comes with both front and rear sprocket and a 520 chain. The chain is the 520XSO RX-Ring Chain by RK. Now I know i will need the chain breaker from motion pro to get the stock chain off, what will I use to get the new one on? Thank you in advance for the advice.

If your RK chain came with a standard clip master link, you can use one of the chain breaker tools (like this one) to push the master link together. You simply unscrew the pushrod (that pushes out the link pin to break the chain) until it doesn't protrude into the body bolt; then screw the body bolt down onto the master link (make sure the pins are aligned properly with the plate holes on the master link) to press fit it together. Then install the master link clip.
If your chain came with a rivet-type master link (the best type, no chance of a clip flying off), then you'll need a riveting tool to properly install it.

i try to do most of the work on my bike myself also and when i changed the sprockets and chain on mine i just went to my suzuki dealership and they had a decent sized stock of the chainbreaker/riveting tool kit. They are both one tool but with different attachments. i found it easier to just cut the old chain off but be careful not to clamp the rivets too tight when installing the new chain so you don't ruin the seals in the link.
