How do the plugs look? Are they dry? If so, that signals you aren't getting any fuel, which could be a clogged fuel pump.
We've found that the Aprilia Milles like a little bit of throttle to start up, rather than just leaving the throttle closed while hitting the starter button.

Does it crank over, if not battery, starter, solenoid, saftey switch or wiring. If it does crank over check fuel, fire, air all needed to run. check the plugs for fuel and spark, make shure it can get air to and through the air filter. Let me know what you find I am a motorcycle mech. I will help as much as I can. Buy a service manual it will help you trouble shoot.

Thanks guys.Bike won't crank at all.I am going to check plugs also I'm looking out for a service manual.Although solenoid makes noise when trying to start I don't think it is closing on ignition as I placed multimeter on load side of of solenoid and grnd and no voltage was apparent. What do ya reckon?

Sorry, should have asked if the bike was cranking over at all. Wouldn't worry about the plugs at this point.
Are you absolutely sure that your battery has enough charge and voltage? Solenoid needs proper voltage to work correctly. If there is enough voltage (probably on the high side of 13v), and there is no voltage whatsoever on the starter terminal when you press the starter button, then there is most likely an issue with the solenoid.

probably the solenoid cross the terminals with an old screw driver if it cranks over you will know the solenoid is bad, make sure you are not in gear because this will bypass the saftey switch. good luck let me know what you find.
