I have an 03 600rr, im having an intermitent loss of power in the 5000-8000rpm range. The bike doesnt shut off, it feels like a surge. It can happen in any gear. It can happen during city riding and highway. I have trouble shooted several components and have not found anything wrong. Maybe someone can help on this situation???

What modifications if any have you done to it (exhaust, air filter, etc.)?

Sounds like you need to have a qualified person check out your Power Commander settings in that rpm range to make sure they are in the proper range. It sounds like you're not getting enough fuel.

hey kento1, i had fixed the problem, it was the power commander, the map i had installed was corrupted, i found a guy in arizona who makes custom maps for all applications and modifications for the bike. www.faic.cc He is a really nice guy and is very knowledgable. check him out Thanks Mike

I have the same issues, bike is a 2005 cbr600rr, Yoshi half pipe and that's it for mods.
I changed the fuel cap to a race version, and yet it still had issues.
Could it be fuel pump restrain? Or map sensor gone bad?

Does it occur at part-throttle? Full throttle only? Both? Try to see exactly what rpm it occurs at. The more details on how/when/where the problem occurs, the better able someone will hopefully be able to help.
Fuel pump problems would usually be at full-throttle or near that (or the bike won't start). Map sensor issues can cover a wide range of throttle/rpm settings.
