I'm looking for a great starter bike with a low seat hight because I'm only 5'2, motorcycles have been in my family forever, my brother stunts for IMR and have always wanted a bike as well. I'm looking for a 600 because the look and power but do not want to have to lower a bike because the dynamics.

Any ideas or opinions as to which model and year of certain bikes are good for short girls?

Thanks
Kerri

Unfortunately, a person of your stature is limited in their choice of starter bikes because the average seat height for most motorcycles is around 32 inches. In all honesty, your best bet would be to start off with a bike like the Kawasaki Ninja 500R to gain some confidence first before attempting to learn how to shift your weight to each side and balance with one foot at a stop when riding a bigger bike with a taller seat height.

Lowering a motorcycle definitely has its handling drawbacks. It is possible to have an upholstery shop shave off some of the seat foam to lower its overall height, although that requires access to a shop and some experimentation.
