i've never rode a bike, and i really want one. I found one 2003 Suzuki SV650s for $1800. Was wondering what to look in bike before bying, and what questions should i ask the seller

The first thing to look for and ask about would be the MSF Ridercourse near you:

What I'm implying is that before you think about buying a bike, you need to learn how to ride one properly. Simply hopping on an SV650S and trying to learn how to ride without the proper instruction is putting yourself at grave risk.

Beyond that, you need to check out the bike thoroughly before you buy. Look for crash or even tipover marks, and ask plenty of questions about them. Ask for any maintenance receipts. Be wary of one that has the aforementioned crash marks, replacement bodywork that doesn't match, unkempt chain, rust or corrosion marks, no maintenance receipts (unless the owner demonstrates a good knowledge of the bike, but you'd have no way of determining that), and/or high mileage.

Have you actually seen the bike yet? What makes you think it's a good deal?

Excessive mileage can vary from bike to bike. What might be high mileage for one can be average for another. Depends on the maintenance and owner.

Point being, you're jumping into the deep end here with no motorcycling experience whatsoever and looking at buying a six-year-old motorcycle. Granted, it sounds like a good deal because it's so cheap, but with zero experience to help you to know what to look for, simply getting suggestions from people is not much better than walking in there blindfolded.

All things considered, you would probably be better off buying a new(er) bike.
