Hello to all I have got to get a quieter helmet. I find myself concentrating more on the noise level in my helmet than the actual ride. I don't want to fork up the big cash for a Nolan, Suomy, or Arai.
I've been looking at ICON HJC Scorpion Rockhard
thanks for the responses

I felt the same way after my first cheap helmet. What I've learned is that it's not entirely about the helmet. Consider the bike you ride....fairings? Windscreen? All of those factors contribute to the noise level.
Personally I love my new helmet - HJC FS16 (The carbon). It's very light, very comfortable. For additional noise reduction ... a pair of 99cent ear plugs did amazing things!!

Everyone's head shape is different, so a helmet that will be quiet for one person won't necessarily be that quiet for another. This is because the loudest noise is generated by wind rushing through the neck roll/cheek and ear padding area. If you make the neck roll tight enough to seal out wind, it makes the helmet extremely difficult to put on.
Thus, as the above post suggests, your best bet is to wear a good set of earplugs.
