Hi all,

Love the magazine, decided to post a Q on the forum

Riding a SV 650S, love it, riding for 2.5 years... commuting, fun rides, have done 1 track day, will probably do an occasional track day in the future but NOT a racer by any means

Considering getting something w/ a bit more HP, say a GSXR 600. Problem is, I've never ridden one.. have ridden my husband's GSXR 1000 a few times and love it, though I'll never ride THAT bike to its potential.

Is a GSXR 600 smooth like the 1000?  I know there's reviews based on track performance, but I am more interested in real-world street handling, not top speed.  Is it flickable like the SV650S, or does it FEEL a lot heavier?  I know the GSXR 1000 is a PITA to ride in heavy city traffic, it cooks your legs and you can't hardly get it out of 2nd gear.  how is the 600 in the inevitable traffic?

Thanks for ANY feedback!!

The GSX-R600 often doesn't feel as flickable as an SV to novices because of the SV's higher bar position, which gives the rider more leverage. It actually does steer as quick (actually quicker) once you become accustomed to the riding position. It doesn't have the low-end torque of either the SV or the 1000, so you'll have to rev it a bit more. But you'll most likely be satisfied with the performance, which will allow you to learn and improve by making you learn about working with a bike's powerband.

Hope that helps.
