Some help from someone that may know.  I am looking at getting a new bike (would be the forth I have owned).  First three were ninjas (86, 93 zx7 and 95zx7).  I am looking at a 1000cc and like the ninja but I do not like the styling of the 08-09 models at all.  Would I be giving up a lot performance wise if I choose the Aprilia instead.  I am an older rider and not much for trick or stunts anymore, just looking for a good solid, dependable, and eye catching ride.  Any help from anyone with experience with the two would be appreciated as I am limited on my experience with the Aprilia.  I know Ninja is a great all around bike for me (but they seriously destroyed the good looks with the redesign).

Exactly which Aprilia are you referring to?

It is the RSV1000R,  I have only been able to find stats for the 2007 model and only been able to find 2007 models in my area (tampa florida).

You will lose some performance compared to a four-cylinder literbike, but it won't be anything earth-shattering. The Aprilia will mostly lose out on top-end. As far as "eye-catching", you'll definitely stand out more on the Aprilia, especially with an accessory exhaust.

Not sure on availability for '08 models, as Aprilia is planning on replacing the RSV Mille with a V-4 in late '09.
