I am looking for my first bike and do plan on taking the mfs course and i am riding a 250cc dirt bike
the bike i want is the triumph 675 daytona but i have
been reading the advice on this site so i know that a 600cc bike is not the popular choice for a first bike
so i looked at the kawasaki 250r but i only like the
new body style so thats a brand new bike and im am 6,2 175. and almost 18 so i still might grow some more
so will i fit on the kawasaki .
your opinions on both bikes would be great thanks for your help in advance

if you are riding a 250 dirtbike then i would go with atleast 600. i had a kawi 250 before i got my GSXR1000, and it was definitely be a little small for you, and i'm only 5'7".

The Ninja 250 is a fabulous bike. Veteran riders who have them, rave about them. It might be a little small for you, but it's great to learn on and lots of fun to ride. They are ALWAYS in demand so you should get decent resale for it should you want to move up a level.
The Triumph is another fine machine. Owners love them and they are unique. I don't see many out on the road. It's a lot of bike to start with though. If you had to go that route, definitely go used. You don't want to have to replace new plastic - nice and expensive. I personally don't recommend a 600, but it's doable with a level head and lots and lots of practice.
Have you considered a Suzuki SV650 or a Ninja 500? Those are two other decent starters.

I understand when comparing the SV price to the used Triumph. I'd rather have the Triumph as well. But remember that the SV650 is a twin, so it won't have nearly as much power as the four cylinder sport bikes and the three cylinder of the Triumph. Good luck in your search.
