I love riding my bike everywhere, anytime i don't have to carry passengers anyway and weather permitting (ya i'm a fair weather rider). But sometimes i don't feel comfortable leaving my helment strapped to my bike and it's to much trouble to carry around.
Just wondering what all you other hard core riders do with your lids while your parked.

I wear a helemt that none in their right mind would steal, since it's a XXXXL!!!!!! But if I had a normal size noggin, I'd carry a cable lock, to cable the helmet to the bike.

I'll carry mine sometimes and other times I'll strap it to the bike. It really depends on the atmosphere where it's parked. Some places I feel comfortable leaving it and other places, not so much. I'll just carry it then.
I'm probably going to buy a cable lock of some kind though so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

If you want to take your helmet with you - strap it into a motorcycle backpack that has a helmet carrying compartment. There are many bags now that come with some form of helmet carrying capacity.
We recently reviewed Icon's Urban Tank Bag - an excellent tank bag that you can strap your helmet into so your hands are free when you want to walk around.

Here in SF we carry ours, the helmet, cable or not is gone before you can get your disk lock on if you do not take it with you.

i agree with most here. carry it, it makes a statement that your proud to have a bike, as well as may strike a conversation with other riders, which could lead into you having more people to ride with. not to mention, like someone else said, it will attract lots of positive female attention.. i say deal with the hassle and be proud to carry your helmet.
