I am looking for an easy way to remove the decals off of my 2006 Kat.  I dont want to use harsh chemicals because I dont want to ruin the paint.  What do I use???  I took the warning stickers off with a hairdryer and it was a pain in the @ss.  Any suggestions??? Please Help.  Customization in progress and in dire need of help.  Thanks.

I have removed a couple of the decals from my R6 (the YZF and deltabox from the side fairings and the small Yamaha from the front and rear) and in my 10 yrs. as an automotive tech. i've removed plenty of decals and emblems and i've never found an EASY way especially if your dealing with quaility decals like factory ones. Granted the decal isn't to hard to remove it's the adhesive that is left behind thats the pain they do offer adhesive removers to aid in the process, but in my experience they still don't make it easy, it still requires lots of rubbing and i usually have sore finger tips for a day or two. But i would love to hear if anyone has any tricks up their sleeves to ease the process!!

I stripped all the stock decals off my 05 ninja... the trick is to heat them up with a hair dryer and peel VERY slowly and have patience!!! Once they were all off I used rubbing alcohol to get the remaining adhesive off the waxed it to restore moisture to the paint. I am not the queen of body work but I got great results. Bummer for the ones that are clear-coated over tho...

Let me know what you decide and how it works for ya!

I have had good luck with good ol WD-40 to get the sticky stuff off after using the hair dryer method...I also ripped off graphics in the cold, and the glue and all came off!  That was probably the luckiest day of my life thou------

I've heard, but never done myself that mayonnaise will also help loosen the glue.
I have done the blow dryer trick, the rubbing alcolol or tar remover immediately following by soap water and a good rinse.

if the decal doesnt come off clean try using lighter fluid for the sticky mess.some brands state it right on the label.

I used a product called goo-b-gone or something with goo in the title, all i did was the hair drier trick then put some of that stuff on it, let it sit for a couple of minuets and wiped it right off.
