I'm trying to decide on a 600...I'm leaning toward a CBR 600, but those GSX-R's look pretty hot. I'm a back-and -forth -to- work rider and a little weekend stuff...any suggestions?

It really depends what you're looking for. I've heard great things about the CBR and both bikes have great, but very different looks.
All the 600's are similar in performance (don't use that as your deciding factor) so if I were you, I'd go to the dealer and sit on the CBR and Gixxer and chose which is more comfortable, and which feels right to you. Not considering the R6 or ZX-6R?

Nah...I'm not looking for "hyper-sport" just a comfortable, good looking, sportbike...I used to work at a Honda dealership. I fell in love with the CBR, but as I said...that GSX-r looks pretty hot. My 'bud just scored a '08 Hyabusa and that started my thinking about a Suzuki...Maybe a GSX-R 750...?

Yeah. I own an '07 R6 and I love the look of it and I have no complaints, but I really wanted a CBR. I just got such a good deal on the R6 that I couldn't pass it up.
The look of the GSX-R has definitely grown on me in recent years, but I personally like the look of the '06 better than the '08 because I like the stubby exhaust (600 and 750).
Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with the Gixxer or the CBR. My next bike (in a few years) will probably be a CBR 600 or the GSX-R 750. It's fun shopping for bikes!

My first new bike was a 07' gsxr 600. all black. Never had any problems at all with it, and did all maintance work myself. Never had problems with clutch, always used it. Smoked off a few tires without any problem. I like the cbr 600 as well, and i'll admit i think the cbr sit a little more comfortable, but the gsxr was great for really getting into the race mood. Have fun shopping.

I've got to admit...I'm 42...And riding comfort is starting to get a weeee bit more important than balls out preformance! But still and all...I love a lot of "air space" between the rear tire and the rear end..if you know what I mean...

if you are not looking for a "hyper-sport" bike and are looking for a more comfortable bike that will still perform, it might be worth checking out the honda interceptor while your looking at the rr's. I have a 07 gsxr, only complaint is the stock low end on it but Ive heard the redesigned RR's are hard to beat.
