Hi everyone,
Can anyone help me understand the differences between a sports touring bike, a pure sports bike and a touring bike? Is a sports touring bike something like a touring bike that looks sporty? What is the exact definition? It sounds appealing, but I do not want something like a cruiser. <Touring Honda, etc> What Sports Touring Bikes are known as the best?

Sport bikes have a more aggressive riding position. Sport Tourers are quite similar but the position is more relaxed and often includes (or can) panniers (side bags) as an option. Touring bikes will generally have a relaxed upright riding position. msf-usa.org has a pretty good classification of what these bikes are.
The best sport bike is the one you like best and is highly subjective. If you're a new rider I'd go with a 600-800cc.
