Hey got a newbie Q for anyone. Is it hard on the bike to up-shift w/out pulling in the clutch? I've got an 07 gsxr600, and for the most part when I do it it's very smooth & fast, but I don't want to wear any parts out if thats what it's doing. Thanks!

Whats up buddy? I own an '06 GSXR600 and I have to tell you that I "power shift" regularly. Not frequently, but regularly. I have never experienced any problem with doing it. I bought my bike brand new and after about 13,000 mi. I havent encountered any problems. I did hear before that it doesn't cause any harm, but of course, thats what I hear. Again, I've never had any problems w/ it, but I have no clue what the long-term effects would be. I do have one suggestion though, be sure you are blipping (letting out) the throttle when you do so. I highly doubt you want to do this while the engine is climbing or under acceleration. Thats about all I can give you, man. I hope it helps or you atleast find an answer from someone more qualified and tech. knoledgeable.

i'm giving out my default advice; read the rider skills series they really do have articles on all aspects of riding there's even an article on clutchless upshifting where not only do they talk about it in general they talk about proper technique.
So read the article and let your clutch hand thank you. BTW i think it's cool to riding down the road upshifting with my left hand placed comfortably on my thigh!
