I was just looking for some advice on some aftermarket upgrades for what is a 2005 Yamaha YFZ R1 engine. The twist however is the motor will actually be not in a bike but in a racecar. I am hoping people have advice on ECU upgrades exhaust ideas and others that will possibly get more horsepower out of the motor. Plus if RAM AIR induction actually can up the output of the motor. It will be running the stock ecu and modifyed wireing harness for the most part. Any facts ideas suggestions would be greatly apriciated cause im kind of new to the whole modifying bike engine idea. Thanks

Perry

P.S. the motor is actually in a racecar with a class called a DSR for SCCA club racing and here is a link to a pic of the car that should work

That's interesting for sure. Is forced induction allowed? I have heard of guys putting turbo's on their R1's. I wouldn't do it on mine because it's wicked fast as is. I do have a PCIII and exhaust. Also velocity stacks as well. Ram air was supposed to have made a big difference from the 99-03 R1's to the 04 and on. So that could be worth trying. I would say unless you do some heavy modification then 190's peak HP is all you'll be looking at with just bolt on parts and ECU.
