I am getting ready to purchase a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R and I am very interested in getting some Pirelli Diablo Rosso tires for it.  The stock size for the Ninja250R is 110/70 17 up front and 130/70 17 in the rear.  The stock front tire size is available in the Diablo Rosso, but the rear is not.  My question is, Can I mount the Rosso 150/60 17 rear tire on the 250R without causing problems due to clearance or unwanted handling.  Any help with this would be great.  If I can not mount the Diablos, it will be no big deal.  I just can't wait to ride the little Ninja 250R.  I have to confess that I love small sportbikes.  I only wish that we could get ahold of a CBR250R or a CBR400RR here in the U.S.  The most fun I have ever had on a sportbike has been on these two bikes while I was in the military stationed in Japan.  I hate to say it, but they were more fun to ride than the 750 Ducati SuperSport or the CBR900rr that I owned while I was there.  In the mountains, small bikes rule with an iron fist.  Thanks alot for any help.

There are a few Kawi 250 forums that bring up these tire questions a lot. I kinda remember the 150 might be a problem with the swing arm. I do remember that it will affect the turning ability that you love so much about the 250.

The bike is a blast to ride. I have had one for about a month or so. I think I'm at about 1500 miles of fun. I haven't changed a thing on it but oil changes and some adjustments.

If you don't have a deposit on one they are hard to come by.
