Hi guys, can you shed some light on riding jackets: what is the difference between Textile, mesh, nylon, leather, not in terms of material they are made of but in terms of functionality:-) I mean, for example I live in Orange county so it mostly quite warm, what would be the best choice in order not to sweat while riding? What riding gear you wear in the summer? Sorry if it sounds stupid   Thank you in advance

Wow... someone asking about such an important thing as Riding Gear, and no one has a comment?  Must be out enjoying the Spring Sunshine!
In quick terms: Textile vs. Leather
-Leather (although really popular on the Street) is best on the Track, and in fact, a Requirement for Riding on the Track, as it creates Friction that will slow you faster in a slide on the asphalt.  However it will 'burn' off faster than Textile, and in a Street Accident, there many be several impacts/slides before it is done.  In addition, a good set of Leathers are not cheap, and on a hot day....well, kinda suck!
-Textile is far more versitle, as there are many different styles/types for various applications.  Textile is not allowed at the Track as it can cause you to slide further, or bounce (where Leather grips), but this may be a good thing in a Street Accident, and can save your Life!
-Winter, Spring/Fall, and Summer are the best way to describe Jacket/Pants Combos.  A Heavy Jacket is best for Winter; A Lighter Jacket will do for Spring/Fall, and a good set of Riding Pants will go through all three Seasons.  These Solid Textiles will have a Removable Inner Liner, and Zip Open Vents, in case the day gets warmer while you are Riding, in addition to Armor in all the right places.
Mesh is for Summer.  Mesh allows Air to Pass Through the entire surface, allowing the Rider to stay cool, while still providing all the Benifits of Armor.  In fact, a Rider wearing Mesh will be cooler (in Temp) than a Rider wearing a T-shirt, and shorts, as the Air is concentrated at the skin, taking advantage of your bodies natural cooling functions, Sweat!  A good set of Mesh Jacket/Pants is not too expensive, and with a pair of Vented Boots you will be set to Ride all year round in that Orange County Sunshine, Ya Lucky Dog!
