Hi out there, ive got a prob with my poxy bandit, ive had it 6 months and ridden it once ! the guy before me put a gsxr 1100 carb on it and now i cant get the idle to set and it keeps over revving and dying. Anyone who has the answer as to why please please help. I heard its a relativly common upgrade but for something so common no one knows squat! Any help that can be given will be very much appreciated. J

Locate, and Install the Original Carbs.
This type of Modification can be very problimatic at best, and to make matters worse, your Original Service Specs will no longer be applicable.  Unless you have an Exhaust Gas Analyzer, or are willing to repeatedly tear it apart to inspect Plugs, and Make/Test Adjustments, it will be impossible to get it right.
As well, you will now need two Service Manuals, or at the very least, the GSXR Carb Specs, to properly calibrate the Carbs.
If you want more power out of the Engine, the 'Tried and True' way is to Install Larger Jets in the Original Carbs, Remove Stock Air Filter Box/Install Pods, Run slightly Hotter Plugs, and Install a Good Exhaust System.  However, even with this you will loose all the Stock Spec References, and still need to make Adjustments to Air/Fuel Mixture Ratios.

Although, if it were your intention to retain this Modification, and attempt to resolve the Running Issue, I would suggest that it sounds like there is a problem in the Idle Circuit (Blockage), or that the Floats are Set Too High.  Other problems might include: Air/Fuel Mixture, Bad Float Valves, Plugged/Blocked Passages, Damaged Vacume Diaphrams, Debris in the Fuel System, Dirty/Sticky moving parts, or even somthing as simple as a Frayed Cable!  Carb Issues are a very difficult thing to try to solve 'On-Line', and generally require a complete Inspection/Cleaning/Calibration to resolve.

Look for the Stock Carbs on eBay, and Best of Luck!
