CBR600RR, i do agree it's a great bike, you can never go wrong with last years champ because it's already a proven formula, BUT

what is the "best" is it for street or track?

from what i have read in all the new articles i have read the new zx-6r is gonna be tough to beat for a track focused bike. The R6 also improved on their midrange power and peak. I have not herd anything of suzuki yet, but i'm sure we will So don't overlook them.... there might be a new champ this year :P

for the streets i agree on the daytona 675, it's got lots of mid range power which would give you an "edge" on the streets. I also herd that the ergonomics are better than it's competition.

IF you can afford it, check out the Duc 848, good reviews soo far!!!

wait till sport rider comes out with the middleweight shootout or just test them all :P. In the end it's a subjective opinion,  because you might ride one bike better than another, or feel more comfortable with one over another. Also the middleweight winner isnt always the fastest either :P, rider makes the difference my friend

Cycle World put the 07 CBR600RR against the 08 R6 & it beat it in every aspect, not even all that enhancements helped it boost it's midrange, it's still gutless.

13hp difference @ 9000rpm is huge, it lacks power where you need it most on the street, the R6 is much more track focused but the 600RR still beat it with a more street focused bike.

yeah that dosnt suprise me one bit about the r6, they have always had peaky power, and a very track focus'd bike. i guess thats why the track junkies love them lol

i guess for the streets i'd look for something with  the best midrange

-honda cbr600rr, you wouldnt regret gettin this bike

-triumph 675 no doubt has amazing midrange

-i wonder about this years gsxr?? any news anyone, if not look at the 2004 and 2005 models i loved that year (very well balanced)

-any news on the zx-6r , i only herd that its very track focused, even kawasaki admits to this  in an interview, most likely very peaky power like the r6.
Take a look at the last 636's if you dont mind used bikes there amazing,i think the last model was in 2006? correct me if i'm wrong ( gotta love the slipper clutch thought hehe)

- theres always the ducati 848 ( 2 magazines reviewed the bike, and they both loved it) if you can afford it   , it's somehow still considered a middleweight,  i dont get how that is, but meh, she's beautiful.

I would say stay with a proven formula my friend
honda's cbr600rr was last years best middleweight, and i dont think it received many changes this year which in my opinion is a good thing!!!

and the triumph is also a great choice, and a unique one at that, not many people ride them   , around here anyways

ride them all , and make up your own opinion,

if i would buy new i would stick with the honda and triumph

I was the first in my area to get a 2007 CBR600rr and am "lov-n every minute of it". This is the best all a rounder I have owened. It does everything well, commute to work every day, 400 miles to "Deals Gap" in six hours or a track day magician. On this bike it seem almost effortless.
