I've just run across a new product in a couple of places. One manufactured by Procom Engineering:
http://www.procomengineering.com/
(Click on "Products," then click on "Magic Power Box.")
Here is another nameless brand listed through an on-line store: http://www.regulatorrectifier.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?osCsid=020f4ff65f1dc090417e809db5d2e92b&keywords=magic+power+box&x=9&y=9
They're making a lot of claims, that don't quite add up to me.
Does anybody know about these things?
[Sorry, I can't seem to get these links to be "hot." So, cut-n-paste will work, I guess.]

I'm kinda hoping that a motorcycle charging & spark system / electronics Guru out there is going to notice this thread, and be able to weigh-in.
I circled back to one of the distributors, asked a bit more about it, and this is the reply:
"The magic powerbox is basically a capacitor. Whenever your bike draws more power the Magic Power box is there to quickly deliver the need. Generally customers that purchase the magic power box are ones that have after-market electrical accessories on their bikes."
Okay, fine, but, again, it seems to me there are a lot of claims being made about the product.
What I REALLY want to know if said Guru "out there" has any reason to believe it may, just may, be "the solution," or, at least, part of the solution to the notorious Honda VFR failing regulator / rectifier problem, which has plagued those bikes for years. I have recently learned that the failing R/Rs are not a problem of the VFR alone; I am told the CBRs have this problem too (but I don't know, because I don't own a CBR).
