I have taken the MSF course bout a month ago and i've gotten real comfortable on a 250, cruising around with one hand and what not. Before I took the MSF course i did a lot of research on bikes to see if i wanted to do this, i've like bikes for a while and i thnk i've approached this properly. I've been going to different dealerships and sitting on the different bikes to see what the weight feels like leaning the bike. I either want a gsxr 600 or the gs500. I'm 5'11", 140lbs I cant seem to decide which one,i feel comfortable with the weight of the 600, just concerned about the power, i called up the MSF instructor and he said I should be ok with a 600 just keep taking it slow and respect the bike. I wish icould test drive one, LOL. Also having trouble deciding new or used..I know that its a good chance of dropping the bike, ima b pissed but im content with it, i just dont want to deal with the possible problems of getting things used, had bad experiences with cars..ANY HELP WOULD B APPRECIATED.

First of all .. you sound pretty level headed .. requirement for Riding (lol)
I'de have to say that considering your size .. 600 would be the way to go in my opinion. The 500's are just a step up from the 250 and easy to outgrow. The 600's are the sweetest of all bikes ... in my opinion. That's just it ... each has his/her own opinion. So make a decision that is Best for you!!
One caution ... many beginners start with a 250 or 500 and by the end of the first season have outgrown their bikes. If you have a wife or girlfriend that you would consider passing the bike to .. hey that's a heck of a deal ... but if the bike is just for you .. and you would like to invest in something that you will be happy with for several years .. go with the 600.
I am open to Used .. myself .. only because I have several years of riding and have found that used you can get some GREAT DEALS .. specially this time of year. You know anyone who rides that lives close to you?? Ask them to go with you maybe to check out .. most of us who ride are always intersted in checking out bikes!! I bought new ... ever bike I have owned cept for one. However, now looking back .. would have been better off buying used .. at least for my first two bikes !! The thing is as a new rider ... at least for me .. I dropped my bike ... Stupid stuff .. but served as good lessons. Once in my own driveway learing how to walk the bike .. see ... how silly is that .. but it happens!!! Some bike wear better than others... something to consider. One drop on the right bike could cost $$$ on the other hand if you have used is does seem to bite as bad...
Regardless .. welcome to world of Riding !! It is awesome .. and nothing compares!! It gets into the blood and becomes a part of who you are... at least that what happened to me. Plus you become a member of a brotherhood ... instant friends wherever you go!!
Have Fun and be Safe ... Good Luck
