My friend recently just started riding and it seems like he's having a tough time applying a very smooth and careful braking technique especially when it comes to poor surfaces. What's the secret to good braking?

practice makes perfect, he just has to find a comfortable way to master the smooth braking, make sure his braking is a smooth motion and nothing quick. its gonna be rough is poor surfaces regardless, experience will help that.

all it takes is a little coordination and practice. as with anything to do with motorcycles, SMOOTHNESS is always the key to safety- and to speed. if your friend cannot master this essential skill with some practice, maybe have him sign up for a training course of some sort. if that fails, he might want to change hobbies. riding a motorcycle is extremely dangerous on today's streets for a skilled rider, and often fatal for the ill-equipped. have fun and be safe!
