ok So I got my new 2006 Ducati 620 today, its in mint condition with 911 miles on it. It started fine all day (without driving just while parked) until I accidentally pressed down on the clutch and it stalled. It wont start now! It turns on and everything but when I hit the ignition button I get nothing, no clicks, nothing. PLEASE HELP!

I’m going to assume you mean that you stepped on the gear shift and it stalled.  I think most bikes won't let you start them if they aren’t in Neutral or if the clutch isn’t pulled in.

If it is in gear it won't start with the kickstand down, even with the clutch pulled in.  Make sure it is in nuetral and try starting it with the clutch pulled in.

Very similer occurance with an 07 st3, lugged it (too low rpm) got some chatter noise, pulled over soon after and had a smoke,  *** thing would not start, lights on nobody home....finaly pulled all the fuses (checked, all good)somthing must have reset, and it started right up.  have not had any problem sence then (2k miles) can't help but think the clutch lugging had something to do with it.

I have a problem, similar, but not like this.  My bike only holds a charge for so long, maybe ten miles or so, on a good day.  I figured it was my battery because it keeps going dead.  However, I do have some open circuts (I don't have my tail lights or rear turn signals hooked up yet).  Could someone tell me if this is my stator...or if it's just draining from those open ends

Hey redmerc, go to www.ducati.net and sign up for the ducati mailing list. This will put you in immediate touch with thousands of ducati owners, and they will help you get it resolved. I just got a new Hypermotard, and I am on ducati.net everynight. Good Luck!

Make sure the bike is in neutral.  Ducatis have an immobilizer chip in the key that the ECU reads.  If the bike is stalled and/or the key is in the ignition w/o the bike starting for (I think) about 10 seconds, the bike will not start.  You will have to pull the key out of the ignition, wait a few moments, put it back and it will have reset the immobilizer and start.
This is all covered in the owner's manual.  Most peeps don't bother to read that!

p.s starting it all day long as you have said you did, w/o riding it will cause the battery to lose charge.  If it drops enough, it will not have juice to start it up.
The motor needs to rev for a while (not just idle) to charge the battery.

Also, you might want to check the kill switch. I don't have a Duke but on the *** bikes if the kill switch is in the off position it will not turn over.
