Is road spray an issue on sports bikes?

Just curious...

I typically ride choppers, but I've been thinking about getting a sports bike.

On choppers, road spray is a huge issue so I've been using this product (which I happen to sell) to keep my pants dry from both rain and road spray.  They're called "Biker Rain Chaps".  They are great for keeping my leather chaps in good condition as well.
