Y would you put dual exhaust on the 2007 GSXR 1K? They don't even use it in AMA Superbike. I know that normally you don't change bike design for atleast two years but let's ditch that dual exhaust immediately! You have to buy two slipons if you want to replace the stock and if you change the exhaust into a single it will be even more expensive. I was really kind of hoping for an undertail exhaust like the R1, Duc or Honda maybe even a GP style.
I don't even want to go into riding a passenger, which side or they suppose to dismount now with those big cans on each side. You can do better Suzuki!

I agree I hate the dual pipes. I think suzuki is bringing thier hayabusa styling into the GSXR1000. Hopefully they change it in the next couple years.

Noise and emissions...
That is also why it weighs more than the '05/06 version.
It probably would have lost power if it stayed with a single exhaust like the previous version.
And the passenger always gets on from the left side. Even with the 2 exhausts.

I also agree, it looks like crap! I ride with a buddy that has an '06 GSXR 1K, and he is *** glad he bought the '06 before the '07 came out. I bet they did it so you would have to buy two slip ons.

Chris is exactly right. It wasn't a styling thing. It was due to noise and emissions regulations. Say thanks to Big Brother for making sure you don't contribute to imaginary global warming and whatever other BS they can come up with as an excuse to make more regulations.

The bike is heavier also because of the larger radiator. Part of their idea is lower and equal mass so the bike feels lighter and turns better that is why you will see more and more low exhaust on race machines. Suzuki does run the dual exhaust on the world superbike Arrow design even though Yosh goes for the right side single for the AMA superbikes

I do not know why this is even an issue... If you get a GSXR1000 you are buying preformance. Not looks. If you want a pretty bike get something else .
The item that tips the scale is the exhaust. Just by getting a full exhaust system you will be shaving easily about 20.lbs... Why bother with slip on exhaust? So it sounds nice... is that it?
