New CBR600 vs. GSXR750

I just read the latest edition of Sport Rider and it seems the 2007 CBR600RR is a heckuva machine compared with most other 600s.
That said, for the price, I'm really comparing the CBR600RR with the Suzuki GSXR750. From what I can tell, the GSXR is faster but the CBR is more comfortable and maybe a better choice for what will be mostly road riding.
Any opinions out there? I was all set to buy the GSXR until I sat on the new CBR and read this article...
Thanks, Josh in Austin

So the guy at the cycle warehouse who told me the gixxer is more comfortable than the RR is full of it?
Seriously, maybe he was pushing his suzuki's out the door or somethin... I couldn't tell the diff from just sittin on them in the showroom...

Josh,
Man, we are so lucky to have to make choices such as this. If you look at a couple other issues of SR, they tested the GSXR750 in their 12/06 issue. They got a 10.443 @ 135.6 MPH; Roll-ons 60-80/3.59 sec. 80-100/4.26 sec. They tested the Honda in both the April 9regular road test) and May (600 comparo). The numbers they got were significantly different: April--10.434 @ 132.78 MPH; Roll-ons 60-80/3.68 sec. 80-100/3.42 sec. May--10.844 @ 127.68 MPH. 60-80/4.06 sec. 80-100/3.12 sec. The Honda is also 28 lbs. lighter. If it was me, I'd save a few hundred bucks and buy the Honda, especially considering it's finish and super quality look. If the dealer is giving a deeper discount on the Zuk since it's a year old model, it wouldn't take much to sway me toward the Gixxer. There are no bad choices here, just differences. You can't lose, good luck!

Josh,
Here in Georgia Suzuki's mostly out number the Hondas. The CBR has been so uncomfortable for the last few models, and the Suzuki's have been so good, that is just how things have evolved. I have ridden on a Honda and a Suzuki. I prefer the Suzuki. It sounds like you are hinging your decision on ergonomics. If so, then it is an easy choice. Go with the one you feel the most comfortable on. That will be the one that you will be able to flick around much easier and quicker. As far as quality, Suzuki probably would just edge the Honda, but you really could not go wrong with either. There will be a power and torque difference though. Best of luck, and ride safe.

I have put about 1000 miles on my 07 CBR600RR and can tell you from personal experience that it is the best I have ever ridden. Of course I'm a Honda lover and my total knowledge base is two previous F4's.

Hmmmm... Yeah the CBR600 is a Honda... The 600 may soon leave you wanting more.
I have a friend who ride a CBR600RR for a day and he thinks is slow and gutless. Of course he rides a tricked CBR954RR
I would with out hesitation go with the GSXR750. Good balance of Power and Handling. Besides it is a Suzuki!
