Well ya lets see. ive been reading allover the internet tryin to find out what would be the best first bike without having to upgrade in the futer(lack of funds). Ive ridden dirt bikes and minnies and stuff like that. Im takin the courses to learn a little more. Im about 5'10" 170-180#. anyway i have my eye set on 2 bikes that ive been told by friends who got them as first bikes said they were good, and by readin reviews that said these were ideal bikes to start on if you dont want to buy a smaller older bike. 1. the suzuki gsxr6. one of my good friends bought this as his first bike and loves it and has no intentions of upgrading. He says that if u take it easy the first few months ull be fine. The other bike the one im more favorable to because its not as common is the Kawasaki ninja zx6r. ive been researchin this bike for quite a while now and ive seen many post that say this is a great starter bike that ull never want to upgrade. my brother rides bike and owns 3 and im plannin on ridin his vulcan or one of his other bikes for a little while before i purchase a bike. but im still wonderin wich of these to is better. ive also been told the r6 is a good bike but ivve also read its a harder first timer bike. Also what about the triumph daytona 650 is it a good bike.

Not beginer bikes at all. Man, if you got any of those bikes you would s h i t your pants because of the power. any one of those bikes will do a 1/4 mile in 10.5 seconds or less..
I would say, buy an older 600' (like a early 90's Gixxer or CBR) or a new 500...

I bought an '06 Ninja 500R a few weeks ago, and the thing is a blast. Plenty of power to keep me entertained and still under control, and light enough to manuver without any difficulties. Once the rest of this sudden snow goes away I'll be doing more riding again.

I never owned a bike yet but I would say if you have some riding experience get a Ninja 500 or say a Katana(i think there 600). They should be a blast to drive around. I am planing on getting a Ninja 250 to start out on. But im only 5'11 135lbs.

Well, all of the bikes you listed are good bikes. However, none of them are good beginner bikes at all. In fact, they are among the worst beginner bikes you could choose from the 600 class. They are all race bikes that are very unforgiving.
It sounds like your friends made irresponsible choices, and now they're pressuring you to do the same.
Please do yourself a favor and learn on a smaller bike before jumping to a leader bike. A Ninja 250/500 would be perfect.

I found a '95 kawasaki zx6 (not r) on ebay for cheap as my first bike. I think a 600 is good as long as it's not racing specs. Save the money and buy a better one when your more comfortble.

def not good starter bikes, im not saying it isnt impossible to start on one and be fine but chances arent looking good. just the other day i got a call from my friend telling me he needed me to pick up his bike in my truck, long story short, after maybe 1000 miles and about a month on his first bike (SS bike), he lost it and wrecked it. not cause he was being stupid just the bike was WAY too much for him. be safe and look at some of the slower bike (which will still out run 95% of the cars on the street) and stay breathing.
