Hello,

Had a pair of q's maybe someone has some personal feedback on these subjects.

1st. new tires for a RC51:
I just put 5600 miles on the stock Dunlop D208's since may 13 2006 and the rear is toast about 2800 miles of that is canyon rides and the rest is freeway fun,
thinking of the Michelin Pilot Power 2TC.
but would like to hear some other opinions on other brands, looking for something that can handle heat a little better. but not be a slugg on the canyon roads.

and 2nd. new oil:
i read about people using Mobil 1 synthetic Gold Cap 15w-50 on Aprillias and all the Japanese 4 bangers,
any feedback on the Twins ?.

thanks.

I've tried Michelin Pilots, Pirelli Diablo's, and Dunlop 208's on my Honda, and my preference has far and away been the Michelins.  As far as the rears, I didn't notice a ton of difference, but I dont' push the rear that hard.  The fronts is what mattered to me.  Of the three, I had the least confidence in the Pirelli.  It felt the most vague/ not planted.  I honestly felt I had to slow more thru the corners with that tire than the others, but it could be suspension setup.  The Michelins had predictable grip, that's what I'll be buying again, or trying Bridgestone's.

As far as oil, I havn't used the Mobil.  I tried a few different ones over the years(Castrol, Honda Oil, etc.) and after the big oil test that SportRider did a few years back, I started using Amsoil 10w40.  Havn't switched since.  It seemed to do well in each test they performed, and it's been great in all of my bikes.  Shifts smoother, and it's full synthetic, so you know it should protect well.  Just change it regularly.  Hope this info helps.
