Well, the rear on my CBR finally had it after 3000 miles! Afraid to even ride it to the shop to get it replaced, got threads exposed. So it's sitting until payday and I get a buddy with a truck to take me down there. So my next question is whether or not to go with a sport touring tire or not. I'd rather go with a new Pilot Power or something, but if it's only going to get me another 3000 miles then I might want something that's going to last a little longer. Any suggestions for a tire that would last but still give me the cornering that I want?

You ain't got no corners in VA Beach, brother.
But get a Michelin anyway. You'll like it.

I would just replace it with the same tire.... I don't know about mismatching front and rear tires. Also, I'd just take off the rear tire, put it in my car, and drive it over to the shop to have them put on the new tire. Easier than loading your bike into a truck, etc. in my opinion!

well there's like 2 or 3 turns, ya know... . but yea i have heard it's not good to mix and match tires, but i don't really feel like dishing out the cash for a new front as well, and i don't want another pirelli. Everyone I know that has actually had two different tires never complained about it, just a thought, but thanks for the opinion!
