Supposed to be an improved 208ZR - which was an O.K. tire -
with altered profiles.
So far, some like this tire... seems to depend on what bike
and riding style.
Until I hear more positive opinions, the BT 012SS shall
remain my tire choice. At current prices, almost a 2 sets
to 1 price point.

Burned through a set of front and rear already. Best front tire I've ever had, great turn in and stability. You'll notice it the first time you flip a U turn-you'll be amazed. Rear tire worked well-I got almost 3000 miles outta it this spring (which is great for an RC51, they are tire eating monsters). I really think that my rear suspension settings make a huge difference on tire wear, more so than brand of tire. Since I went with the Ohlins rear, my wear is even and predictable. I'll continue buying Qualifiers till "they" come out with something better!

I'll try the Dunlops eventually. I trust my Pilot Powers all the way down to the pegs... and it ain't gonna go any further. So I don't see any need to switch brands yet. The super duper tire comparo said something about the Dunlops wearing much worse.......anyone? Are the 3000 miles you are getting per set up in the curves or just cruising around town?

Your saying the dunlops wear much worse? I have dunlops d207 sportmax tires on my 05 f4i (stock) and I now have over 11,000 miles on them and I am hoping to go another 2,000 before I mount the qualifiers. So I'm not sure what you mean by much worse.

2 things 3000 miles on a rear?!?!? I'd be pissed I'm hoping at least 4500 out of mine maybe even 5k and the 207's 11k really?!?!? That's either very impressive or I'm breaking out the boots because it's getting deep.

Here's the deal Brandon, and I'm not sure how to break it to you.... but getting 4000k out of a rear is DARN GOOD if you are in the curves. If you get 5000 out of a soft sport tire, you just aren't riding the bike the right way. No disrespect, you're from Kansas, so you have an excuse. If I were you I'd be running high mileage sport touring tires anyways.
As far as the wear thing - in the SR tire comparo I got the impression that the Dunlop D208s and the Michelin Pilot Powers were the 2 best choices. The Dunlops had a bit more grip and the Michelins lasted a little longer.

Okay after numerous conclusive studies that I don't really have any evidence to support. (figure that one out) I have noticed on my buddies R1 that he's been getting 4800 to 5000 miles out of a rear and 7000 on a front. Give or take. Since this is the flagship trip on the qualifiers I don't have any evidence that would convince me otherwise. I've been wrong before but not that often. The R1 was on the 208's, I've got 3100 on my qualifiers and I'm starting to ponder a new rear. So we'll see. But yeah I don't disagree with you I don't have a lot of twistie roads here mostly clover leaf ramps and such. So my right side has of course seen more wear than the left side.

Well first of all it's no BS about 11,000 miles on my tires! I think the fact that most of my miles are put on at night (I work 3rd shift) while the roads are cooler might be a big factor. I'm actually surprized myself that I have been able to get that kind of mileage. With my '97 cbr 600 I never got even close, of course I don't do burn outs anymore. So if you don't believe me I don't know what else to you but that I have no reason to lie.

I wouldn't call you a liar. I was just curious if you had maybe forgotten about a tire change or something. But hey a legit 11k is quite impressive. I apologize.

I would be ASHAMED to tell someone I got 11k out of a set of tires. Now, only getting 2000 miles out of a set...... .......THAT's something to be proud of.

Heard all about the good dry grip and handling characteristics of these tires but how are these things in the rain?
Dry grip is great but I need a tire that works decently in the wet. For this reason, Michelin Pilot Power's have been my "reference" sport tire until someone gives me something to compare against.
Dunlop Qualifiers or Metzeler Sportec M3... hmmm.....

You can't compare the "Qualifyer" to the "d207" in terms of tire life, there different tires. You got 11,000 miles on an F4i with the d207. The other guy stated that he got a couple thousand on the "Qualifyer" on an RC51. I could beleive that if he rides hard. I burned through my rear d218 that came stock with the GSXR 750 in 3000 miles. Bigger bore bikes will eat through a set of tires much quicker then 600's.
