what bike do you own? i didn't go with a 520 chain conversion on my 600RR b'coz a 520 chain conversion has sprockets that are thinner to shed weight but it sacrifices strength & durability so i chose a 525 sprocket & chain for my bike.

i have the mighty gixxer 1k. I had a gixxer 750 with a 520 on it but it was on it when i bought the bike, so i didn't get to ride it with the stock chain.

with a liter bike i would only recommend doing a sprocket change maybe -1 front (could be too much) or +2 rear b'coz the amount of power you bike has you'll have a shorter chain & sprocket life with a 520 conversion, narrower chains have less strength & durability, unless you'll be changing sprockets & chains on a quick basis i'd stick with the stock chain size & just swap sprockets.
