Hey Andrew , with the coming of an 800 cc limit in Moto GP , do you figure the big four will aim towards making 800cc repli-racers for the street? This seems to be perfect in my opinion.More power than middle-weights with possibly smaller size and less weight than litre bikes. The GSX-R 750 is close right now but I'm not sure if it's quite enough grunt for some people. Bring-on the 800's !!  What do you think ?

I am not AT....

But no, we won't see 800s next year, or the year after that...  We haven't seen 990s yet...  Ducati's Desmododeci isn't out yet, and is selling for about 60,000 Euros.  I think they were only going to make 50 or 100 of them anyway....

More choices in the 750 class would be cool though.  Bring on a CBR750RR, ZX7R, R7....

And yes, an 800 would have a little more torque than the 750s would.  Part of the appeal of Kawi's 636cc 6R vs the other 600s.

I am AT

And I agree with Ti-guy. We haven't really seen anything yet that's based on any of the MotoGP bikes. No reason to think that will change in the next few years.

Don't forget that any production bikes may cause problems with meeting the prototype ruling.

According to Ducati CEO Federico Minoli in the Desmo Blog, the "preview" of the Desmosedici RR will happen at the Italian GP in Mugello.

Not sure whether it will be offered only in a virtually unobtainium (for majority of riders) 60K Euro version or whether there might be a more mass production oriented version that will sell closer to 999 prices

I second this opinion. It would be nice to see a bigger selection in the 750 range beside ducati and suzuki. Not that they aren't good looking bikes. But the field needs to broader for people who won't ride anything but yamaha and honda etc.

I think after AMA discontinued the 750 class most people lost interest. If I remember correctly didn't they allow bikes like the TLR-1000 and the RC-51 run with the 750cc class? Either way, I don't see any of the major manufacturers looking to spend the money on R&D and re-designing their factories just to add another 50cc's.

Yeah, there won't be 800s I'm sure, the 750 class? FX class, Supersport, superstock, superbike, superman, supertramp, superduper supper class. AMA is sucking big time right now. They have their heads so far up their Arses they've all but disappeared. Sorry for the Jack.

Long live the V4! It is the perfect motor. Damn Honda for only putting it in the interceptor! BTW the 999 is not exactly affordable fun.

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
God i hated the Honda V4.  I have an 85 Interceptor. That thing makes everything a real PITA to dissassemble.
excited to see the ducati though....
