Well it's time for the best of the best to start racing again, but I'm curious to see you guys' predictions for this years MotoGP. Personally I think Rossi will take it again but I'm really hoping Hayden, Melandri, and Gibernau give him a serious run for the championship.

Don't forget Capirossi, I think we're gonna see a lot more from him this season. The two wins he had last season were very solid, he just needs more consistency.

I'm rooting for Hopkins to get a win this year!

I don't think Honda is going to make a steller showing this season. Pedrosa maybe. If hayden podiums at all, it will be once. I think the big surprise will be that the Bridgstone bikes do well. Look for Nakano on the podium more than once, and in the dry for once. Suzuki will place inthe top 5, perhaps one podium if they are lucky. Ducati will also podium often. Rossi will still find a way to win, but the rest of the Yamaha's will struggle.

Also, with Honda power watch out for the Kenny Roberts Jr. on the KR211V. The chassis has always been good, they've just been down on power...until now.

I've always been a suzuki rider and love the suzuki team but i just don't think they have the experience needed to win. Vermulen is a rookie and I'm still not sure that suzuki has tweeked their bike enough to be competitive. But don't forget, melandri and hayden finished 2nd and 3rd last year even though Rossi could have sat out the last 5 races and still won. Even so, with all the new riders, new restrictions, and new sponsors it's definitely going to be an interesting season.

I'm pulling for a Yamaha 1-2 this year, and I doubt it'll happen, but I'd sure like to see Edwards finish 1st!  He's as talented as anyone out there, with the exception of Rossi, but if he can stay consistent then he might be able to take advantage of the mistakes that the rest are bound to make.

I know Hopkins is nowhere near fighting for the championship, I just think he's a real cool guy, helluva lotta talent, and a damn hard worker (it's not uncommon to see him put in almost twice as many laps as everyone else at tests) and I really think he deserves at least one win.

I'd bet Hayden will get a couple podiums this year, but I don't think he'll be battling for many wins, he's an awesome rider, but there's a lot of talent out there this year. Lotsa guys with more to prove than him.

As far as Edwards, he's one of my favorites, but I don't see him fighting for the championship either. The big diff between he and Rossi IMHO is that Vale seems to be able to 'ride around' most problems he has with the bike and still do well, whereas Edwards seems to get stuck sometimes. He (Colin) will be running strong and consistently all weekend, he just isn't doing it up front, and he (and/or his team) can't seem to figure out what to do differently to change that.

But what do I know, I'm just a stupid fan and a racer-wannabe, I just hope to see some good passing!

OMG I bet Rossi is comtemplating homicide at present after he gets run off the road on the first turn of the first lap in the first race of the season, but at least he still finished in the points :P . I was astonished to see pedrosa do so well against Capirossi. I even thought he might pass him there for a minute. And GO NICKY!!!

if Vale didn't get nudged out by Elias we might have seen a stellar 3 way battle for the lead involving Capirossi, Pedrosa & Rossi while Nicky watches all the action in front of him.

i guess we'll never know........

I guess we'll have to wait until next week before we get to see Rossi in full effect. Hayden did look a bit slow but I still think that when he finds his groove he'll be a serious contender. I'm still kinda pissed that the suzuki's got beat by kawi and even the KR team

that incident will light the fire in Rossi & i think we'll see what the Doc is made of in the next race in Qatar i just hope we don't see him crash out in the opening lap like the last time.

sounds like you're a big Suzuki fan, kawasaki has a better bike than Suzuki in the GP grid b'coz it almost shares the same characterictics as yamaha's (2004) M1  & team KR has been infused with Honda's RC211V power so it has the GSVR beat in the motor department plus with KRJR riding it they have seriously fast & a good handling bike in the grid.

i know Suzuki's GSXR is dominant in AMA & WSBK but when it comes to MotoGP the pinnacle of MC racing technology the Suzuki GSVR has a long way to go.

Yes I'm fully aware of that. I think what's irritating is they've built some of the baddest 4-strokes on the planet, but they find it so damn hard to build one for the GP.

it's much easier to build a superfast 200hp WSBK or AMA superbike CBR, GSXR, 999R, ZX10R & R1 but building a prototype GP machine showcasing new & sometimes unproven technology can be a big headache it's much easier to source a 250hp 990cc engine from one of the manufacturers than run your own engine development program which drains you of millions better spent on other areas of the bike like frame, suspension & tires.

this is what Suzuki is facing right now, all new & unproven technology, when was the last time you saw a V4 sportbike from Suzuki? Honda has extensive knowledge on engines with V-type configurations (RC45 & RC51) & has a vast amount of knowledge in 4stroke tuning to draw from.

in fact suzuki strayed away from the "KISS" mentality when building an engine for racing, everything is fly-by-wire, they should have kept the in-line 4 engine concept like the other 2 teams (yamaha & kawasaki)& just made refinements along the way.

next year it's going to be 800cc's so whether Suzuki bounces back with another GSVR or make an 800cc GP bike loosely based on the GSXR750 superbike.

Where are you guys watching the GP races...is it on some satellite station or pay per view?  I would definately schedule it in to watch every race if I knew where to look.
