Looking for some guidance here, never really messed with suspension settings before.
1994 zx7 I'm 5-10 215lbs
On long slow corners with semi bad asphalt it feels like the rear is trying to bounce around me or is breaking loose then catching again. It scares the piss out of me sometimes. The front does it occasionally at low speed if I dip it too far.
The main corner that kills me is a freeway onramp that does a 270 degree radius and is fairly tight. Anything over 40mph and I'm pulling my seat cover out of my ass for a week. This has totally killed my confidence on any long corners, my dad is flying past me on his Shadow.
I have the guidelines for stock setup, I dont think those are really designed for those of us over 190 lbs. Any ideas on where to start? I dont want to be the ultimate noob here but I would rather ask advice on settings than ask advice on where to buy parts if I lay it down.
Thanks

Very first thing you want to do is buy a new rear spring. Most stock bikes are set-up for a 150-175 lb rider. So anything heavier and you need to start stiffening your springs then playing with the compression and damping settings.

Put some more preload in the rear spring.
