Hey, Members!  I hope you all are doing fine.  I want to ask what is your opinion about the supersport middleweight bikes in the year of 2006.  What are your top 10 picks?  If at all possible go into short detail from specs all the way down to the color options available for the bike.  I would like to own a Triumph 675 for the fact that it is "supposed" to have a triple egine, meaning that it will blow away any bike in the 600 series.  Well, that's what the dealer said (is there any truth to that?) and I bit it, but I'm not into the limited colors for this new triumph 675 and I want to find a bike that looks about the same with similar power and speed.  The one detail on a bike that I like is the undertail exhaust system.  I love bikes with the muffler at the tail of the motorcycle.  I've been trying to find reasons to choose between Honda 600 seris and Suzuki 600 series.  Please bless me with your opinions.  Thank you.

From my experice the performce difference between the kaw, suzuki, yahma, and honda(who improved their bike greatly for 06) are all so close that unless you are on a track and a VERY good rider are you going to be able to use all the power they have(i'm not that good)so in other word unless you are a GREAT rider they all perform quivenlty.  So I just go by sitting on the bike and which ever one feels right for me is the one i like.  And price difference effect my dision too.
As for the triumph, it is a inline three-cylinder engine (the 600's are four-cylinder),  I think it sounds like a great bike and it sounds like it might have some more power than the 600's(but agian unless you are one of the people who can use all the power of the bike,it won't make much difference), check out SportRider the April issue for a good look at this bike.

You can check the respective manufactors web pages to get avabile colors and pic's of that bike in thoes colors as well as the spec for that bike(like engine size, supension...)

So in the end, I would see which one u like the looks of, and go to delears and sit on them to see which one feels right, then I look at cost and hopefully by then you find the one you want.

Thank you Divdan33 for your support.  I have been looking at the suzuki 750 because the white and blue colors are very attractive.

I have a Daytona 675.
This bike is awesome, unless you have been followig it, you  might not have all the information.

Do not go by the spec sheet.  To many people by bikes on the spec, not what they can really do.

As for the 675, it has more grunt power, they dealers say that it has more torque at 4000rpm than the other 699s at 10,000rpm.  In reality, the torque powerband starts at 2500rpm.  GREAT for street riding.  As for the new R6, hi rpms before the engine starts to really respond.

If you are looking at the race circuit, the 675 has destroyed the competition.  Wish I had the link, in one of the races in GB, it had taken spots 1-4, in the bridgestone Championship series, it had placed 4th, and it placed 4th in another AMA race.

But the track does not make it street savy.

Sit on a lot of bikes and find a couple you like.  Each of us has our own preferenece and comfort level.

Good luck

I agree with you,the Daytona 675 looks like a great bike, but think of the price of parts and how easy its to find parts. I'm  from Ky and to think of it I don't think there's a dealer anywhere close. then again I could be wrong? Just something to think about maybe.

I have heard nothing but good things about the 675 and if a dealer was anywhere close to me I might have considered it in my purchase this year. I opted to go with the 06' R6. It may not be a triple but it's BAD!!! It pulls really good down low but yeah it really comes alive in higher RPM's. I love that about it, not to mention it screams in those higer RPM's as well. I am right at 6'3" and it is seems to have a higher seat height than the Honda Suzuki and Kawasaki 600 series bikes. I think the reason that people that aren't as tall as me notice the difference is not so much the height of the seat but the width of it. But anyway I know how tough it is to decide on the bike you want but my advice to you is get the one you really really want because you might hate yourself later if you don't. Good luck to you.
