I was shocked to see that the yamaha r1 was leading the poll  with 73%..... is it just me.... but i though the r1 is gettin a bit dated except for the anniversary thing .... with the new zx-10r and last years champ gixxer..... the r1 seems out of place... dont get me wrong the R1 is a sweet bike that i would buy... performs just as good and any other litre ....normal driver probobly wont be able to tell the  difference between it and the new machines..... but dont we all know that the newer machines will win... 'im a fan off all manufactures.....since the r1 hasnt really had any changes and the other manufactors are stepping up ... i think it has minimal chances of winning... unless they go by looks hehe.... anyways just wanted to know what u guy's think?? i say  the zx and the gixxer are in there own class right now... and plz dont start arguing etc.. no need.. just want opinion.. .and if i missed out on something plz let me know thanks ... try not to be bias guys and girls

The only thing the R1 doesn't have is a slipper clutch and nitrate coated forks or what ever.  The special edition R1 takes care of the updates needed for world superbike racing.
Over all the R1 still keeps up.

It is just a poll.  You can vote as often as you like....    I know for a while, the ZX-10R was number one by a ways.  One of the Yamaha sites must have had their members drop in and vote a few hundred times...  Each...

Maybe it is time for a new poll.

....That or else Yamaha's PR department gave the 06 R1 a higher redline

Haga sure made the R1 look good on Sunday, but my preference would be for the MV Agusta F4 1000S

I have to agree that the ZX and GSX are in a class of their own. It is a back and forth battle with these two. I have a 05' ZX-10R and had the privilage to ride a 06' GSXR and a 07' R1 this year. For a newbie the R1 is the bike of choice. you have to get it past 9 grand for it to do anything. but is a good handleing bike. Kawi of course has always been known for it's raw power. And it is there when ever you need it. I found that the GSXR was the best handling in the twisties and quite stable. And with the right mods can definatly out perform the kawi. The kawi does need an experinced rider. It is not for the weak.

My preference would be the MV as well.
