Found this on another forum. Pretty cool.... I think a K5/R1/10R might have put in a little better showing, but I think the MV represented bikes fairly well.

Thanks for the link Chris. I'll be sure to not have a top end race for pinks with any of these cars.

i think i watched all the vids twice. And the bike one a few more times. That was pretty awesome. I got a Ninja 500r and i can do the 1/4 mile in about 12.5 to 13 seconds. That means that on my $7000 (canadian) bike i can beat a few of those cars to the quarter mile. And the cheapest one there including mods, is probably in the $70k range. Man did they get ripped off. I beat the doors off a corvette on 50st a few months ago in a drag he wasnt happy at the next light so i turned, but i almost wanted to tell him that he got beat by one of the slowest sportbiles available.

Yep. Bikes are quick, but a car with a bunch of hp will have a much higher top speed than a bike. Bikes still rule though.
They didn't have a video of it, but I thought it was funny on the first page that they included a Toyota Prius. I think it barely went 2000 feet by the time an Indy Car has covered a mile....

I didnt see a date when these tests were done. But i noticed the bike did the 0-60 in 3.1 s. Well according to your Mag (i think) the zx-10R and an R1 could do it in about 2.5s. So this test cant be that new.

September 2005.
0-60 in 3.1... Yeah, it could have been better.... I wonder how much experience the guy has on a $42k MV. He does ride/write for a cycle mag, so he is probably pretty good. I am sure a smaller guy like Kent could improve on the times/speed some. But I don't think that a couple seconds quicker over the mile and 5 or 6 mph faster would have improved the bikes position in the test. I wonder how a turbo bike would have done in this test/competition? Put the 500 hp turbo kit from Muzzy's on a ZX-10R.... They did turbo/supercharge a number of the cars.

Well there was a bike mag that had a 700 horsepower sportbike on it once. I would love to see what it could do if the owners ever took it off the dyno and could find tires that it wouldnt blow off in 3 seconds on drag strip.

The test was mentioned in the October 2005 issue of Cycleworld.

Not to worry in this case. that issue has a beautiful MV Agusta F4 1000 Tamburini on it.
